Chronicling the misadventures of our minority-elect President’s alternate reality, alternative facts and the miscreants that comprise his administration so you don’t have to:
Trumpcare causing political fallout for the GOP and pissing people off which will also affect our minority-elect President, using the White House for private gain at our expense, America’s issues with a reality TV president, more evidence Trump is lying about massive voter fraud, Trump’s first foreign trip will probably prove quite entertaining, the importance of studying history – so it doesn’t repeat itself, more revelations of Trump’s prefabricated Syrian gas attack fairy tale, Trump’s boldest move of all is pretending he actually has a mandate and much more.

The health care vote shows Trump thinks the US presidency is just another reality television show article from Quartz. –
Life is good in Trump’s land of delusion:
“Republicans in the US House of Representatives voted in a health-care bill on Thursday (May 4) that has already made them wildly unpopular with some American voters, and is almost certain not to pass the Senate or become a law in any semblance of its current form.
If you’re watching this bit of American governance unfold, a reasonable question right now is…”Why?”
Why would lawmakers back a bill that may strip health care from millions of the poorest citizens (many of whom are Republican voters), could make it cripplingly expensive for tens of millions more, likely leaves them vulnerable in the next election—and that ultimately could be toothless, as fellow Republicans in the Senate are already condemning it?
There is one resounding answer coming from Washington: Because president Donald Trump desperately wanted something he could call a “win.” And while it may not make sense as a political strategy, it does make sense in a context he knows well: reality TV…”

Journalists barred from room for kushner family presentation article from AOL News. –
“Representatives for the Kushner family reportedly asked journalists to leave the room during a presentation they were making to wealthy Chinese investors in Beijing, The Washington Post reported on Saturday.
Reporters were initially seated in the back of the ballroom at the Ritz-Carlton, but as the presentation began, The Post said that a PR representative for the family asked its reporter to leave, saying that the presence of “foreign reporters threatened the ‘stability’ of the event.”
In one instance, event organizers grabbed a reporter’s belongings, including a phone and backpack, to try to force that person out, the report said. When the event’s attendees began leaving the ballroom after the presentation was over, organizers reportedly surrounded the event-goers to prevent them from talking to reporters.
When a PR rep was asked why reporters were told to leave the event, she said, “This is not the story we want.”…”
Which begs the question: what are they hiding?

“I offered each of them the lead spot on this show this morning, to the one-on-one with me, to explain why they voted for the bill. And not a single one agreed … all those names,” she continued.

To stop it from repeating itself…
“As liberal Democrats for the most part, United States historians have no doubt been having a field day with Donald Trump’s recently reported clueless comments on United States history. The president’s moronic take on the nation’s past was front-page news last Tuesday in liberals’ and academics’ favorite newspaper, The New York Times. Times reporters Peter Baker and Jonah Engel Bromwich told readers about Trump’s historical idiocy, seen in the president’s:
+ Suggestion that Andrew Jackson had been “really angry”about the Civil War, which did not break out until 16 years after his death.
+ Assertion that the Civil War could have been prevented by smart policymakers who should have just gotten together and cut a deal.
+ Apparent belief that the great 19th century Black abolitionist Frederick Douglass is still alive.
+ Apparent surprise at learning that Abraham Lincoln was a Republican.
+ Putting up a golf course plaque marking a Civil War battle that never happened….”

Trump’s boldest move of all is pretending he has a mandate article from Rachel Maddow on MSNBC. –
It’s time to remind our illegitimate, minority-elect President that he has no mandate…
“White House Press Secretary Reince Priebus appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” a couple of weeks ago and told Chuck Todd about Team Trump’s expectations for the spending bill that would prevent a government shutdown:
“We expect the priorities of the president to be reflected in the [spending bill[. So, we expect a massive increase in military spending. We expect money for border security in this bill. And it ought to be – because the president won overwhelmingly, and everyone understands the border wall was part of it.”
As it turns out, Democrats and Republicans in Congress decided to ignore Donald Trump’s “priorities,” giving the White House effectively nothing from the president’s wish list, and Trump endorsed the bill anyway. But Priebus’ reference to the president’s “overwhelming” victory stood out for me, and not just because it’s ridiculously untrue.
When Trump and his aides lie about the scale of his 2016 win – the president has a map he’d apparently love to show you – it’s easy to assume that it’s part of a pathetic exercise to boost the president’s fragile ego, hoping to make him feel better about himself after receiving nearly 3 million fewer votes than Hillary Clinton.
And while that’s almost certainly part of Team Trump’s motivations, Priebus’ subtle point is also important: the president wants us to believe he won “overwhelmingly,” which in turn should give him a mandate to pursue a regressive agenda, which in turn means Trump feels comfortable barking orders he expects Congress and others to follow….”
