Senate Prepares for FISA Capitulation

July 8th, 2008

Tomorrow the Senate will most likely pass the illicit FISA amendment granting retroactive immunity to the telecoms who participated in President Bush’s illegal spying — also giving the President a get-out-of-jail free card since it basically absolves Bush of his past crimes back to September 11, 2001, although the illegal spying started long before then.

A small handful of Senators, such as Dodd and Feingold have delivered moving speeches in their attempts to stop the legislation, but as is typical, the vast majority of the Senate has been bought off by the telecoms so the bill will most likely pass with no problem, aside from the fact that it is illegal and unconstitutional.

Several members of both the House and the Senate have proven too many times that they don’t care about the law or those they’re supposed to serve — as shown by the support of Bush’s crimes in the past and the fact that this bill will attempt to cover up Bush’s crimes so the public will never know the truth or the extent of Bush’s illegal wiretapping.

One thing that never ceases to amaze a lot of people is the fact that Congress tried to impeach President Clinton over a blowjob, but refuses to do anything to stop the illegal actions of the most corrupt presidential administration to serve two terms despite never having been elected.

Disreputable Politics & Corrupted Democracy

July 6th, 2008

The FISA legislation fight continues running rampant — Senator Obama angered several of his supporters announcing he would support an unconstitutional bill that destroys the fourth amendment…a bill to replace the diabolical Protect America Act that did nothing but destroy Democracy in the name of Bush induced terrorism…and the opposition has made national news — more reasons behind Bush wanting to invade Iraq continues coming to light, more soldiers are being stuck in Iraq and Afghanistan for more extended tours of duty as suicide rates among soldiers continue to soar, and 9/11 debunkers continue making themselves look like idiots. That and more can be found below.

Mr. Obama and his campaign continue raising questions as to how much change this country will actually see, since his opinions keep changing. Congress — in all its neverending delusional, corrupted, profitable, fear-based faith — is preparing to once again pass controversial legislation offering immunity for telecoms who participated in Bush’s illegal wiretapping while covering Bush’s butt for all of his self-described powers that have already proven illegal more than once. Democratic Leadership in the House of Representatives continues caving into one of the most pathetic, corrupt and unpopular President’s in the history of this country, constantly doing everything…albeit with unconstitutional and illegal ‘legislation’…in their powers to keep Bush’s illegal activites covered up while trying to remove rights and freedoms of Democracy from those they’re elected to serve. If you want to make sure your Congress person knows how you feel about the illegal, unconstitutional FISA legislation, information can be found from FireDogLake.

Bush continues ignoring the real data on Iran — as Israel continues pushing for war with Iran — preferring instead to toss it aside while looking for any excuse to go to war with Iran. Iran is rich in oil. One Ex-CIA Agent was reportedly told five times to either falsify information regarding WMD in the near East, or not to file his reports at all. Bombing Iran would be a disaster since our troops in the Middle East would be affected drastically, and could potentially be annihilated.

For years, financial friends and supporters of President George Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney have received wealth and power beyond their dreams at the cost of financial ruin, freedom and rights to Americans, also paid for in the blood of our dead and wounded soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as citizens of both those countries. In all the wrong ways Bush has shown his support of the troops since beginning his illegal occupation of Iraq, few are quite as pathetic as trying to blame his torture policies on our troops. Then again, Bush’s complete tenure as a never-elected president has been one major disaster after another. Bush and his cronies have done some serious damage these past seven plus years.

Scalia Lies About 2000 Election Again

June 28th, 2008

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia has proven many times that he is not a Justice who bases decisions on the law, he is a Justice who bases his decisions on partisanship — the Republican Neoconservative agenda — proving himself both unfit for the Supreme Court, and a liar.

In yet another disgraceful act, Scalia, while being interviewed about his book, told The Telegraph UK — another questionable tabloid owned by Rupert Murdoch, owner of FOX News, The Wall Street Journal and over a hundred other unreputable sources whose primary function is to serve as President Bush’s propaganda pushers — that Al Gore was to blame for the 2000 election mess. Scalia told the newspaper that if Al Gore had conceded instead of filing suit, none of the scandalous decisions to give George W. Bush the White House would have happened.

Scalia lied. Bush was responsible for the lawsuit and for taking it to the Supreme Court.

Scalia reportedly insisted that his controversial decision, along with four other justices, to stop votes being recounted in Florida was because the method was unconstitutional and it was too late to consider other options was “absolutely right.” That was, in his usual way, another lie.

Congressional Collusion and Lawlessness

June 26th, 2008

We, as noted by TruthDig, are ruled, entertained and informed by courtiers comprised of complicit Corporate media, Democrats and Republicans, experts and pundits. We are being had — by a corrupted, complicit Congress and a presidential administration with no regard for American citizens, hell-bent of politicizing every aspect of the federal government strictly for personal and political profit — regardless of freedom, liberty, privacy and the law.

Corrupt Corporate Media, under the guise of journalism — full of overpaid ‘journalists’ — provides a platform to the to the powerful and famous to conveniently promulgate prepared propaganda so they can spin, equivocate and lie to the nation.  The overpaid journalists have comfy cozy relationships with the powerful and famous. The powerful and famous fear real journalists because they don’t cover up or spread lies and propaganda. Real journalists report on the truth and inform the public about the lies and propaganda. America has too few real journalists.

Courtiers on television play the role of journalists, feeding off the scraps tossed to them by the powerful and famous, never questioning the system — taking everything they’re told at face value. The courtiers, including the late Tim Russert, never gave a voice to credible critics in the buildup to the war with Iraq and never fought back against the steady erosion of our civil liberties and the trashing of our Constitution. The large corporations that employ them make them rich and famous.

Democratic ‘leadership’ in the House, led by ‘impeachment is off the table’ Pelosi, passed the illegal, unconstitutional FISA legislation that provides retroactive immunity to the telecoms. The legislation passed in the House of Representatives in a 293 to 129 vote and is reportedly expected to be passed by the Senate. Democratic Presidential Candidate Senator Barack Obama conceded on the so-called FISA ‘compromise,’ saying “given the grave threats we face, our national security agencies must have capability to gather intelligence and track down terrorists before they strike…” There is no doubt that the world is a dangerous place, but given the past conduct of Bush — aside from creating and financing a lot of the terrorists, there are also all the lies told along with all the falsified ‘intelligence’ — one has to wonder how credible these threats are. Mr. Obama’s statement on top of his recent pledge to Israel at the Bilderberg meeting makes one wonder exactly where his allegiances lie and why his campaigning on ‘change’ is changing. There are also other options.

Congress Capitulating on FISA Again

June 20th, 2008

The ongoing battle for a ‘compromise’ over legislation in the House of Representatives conducted by Congressional leadership has ended…and as usual, Congressional Democrats are preparing again to capitulate and pass unconstitutional ‘law’ to make sure all the crimes committed by Congressional Leadership and President Bush stay hidden — Majority ‘leader’ Hoyer was one of the many leaders who caved into granting amnesty to the telecoms that participated in Bush’s illegal spying — despite the fact that the Constitution expressly forbids passing laws Ex Post Facto (after the fact) that will (or should) end up being ruled as unconstitutional when it goes in front of a judge. A lot more information can be found from Salon News, The Daily Kos, The American Civil Liberties Union, FireDogLake, Boztopia, and Wired.com.

As I’ve said before, it’s time to remove the stench of corruption in the Congress. A new movement is under way to educate people on how deep the corruption goes. It’s gaining momentum at an amazing rate.

I hope some of these ‘leaders’ such as Pelosi, Reed, Hoyer, Bond and a few others, most of which have profited from the illegal war they’ve helped Bush wage, enjoy their last term in Congress. This Congress has been nothing but negligent in their blatant disregard of their constituents and the Constitution, choosing instead to cater to and support the most corrupt presidential administration never elected to office. I sure hope it’s been worth it, because times are changing and A LOT of their constituents are fed up with being shafted on a constant basis.

In 2006, American voted to make Congress more Democratic because we were sick and tired of an illegal war and our unconstitutional losses of privacy and rights. Unfortunately, the 110th Democratically controlled Congress has proven to be an unethical den of liars and thieves that will rank highly in the Congressional hall of shame — essentially the biggest disappointment in United States history. Several members of said Congress have been bought by the telecoms they’re providing amnesty to. Since Congress can’t seem to help America, the people are beginning to help themselves. The ‘legislation’ will be voted on today. Even if it’s already voted on, feel free to contact your representatives in The House, The Senate and the ‘leaders’ listed below.

Supreme Court Restores Habeas Corpus

June 19th, 2008

Recently, in a sharply divided ruling, the U.S. Supreme Court reportedly ruled that Guantanamo Bay detainees can challenge imprisonment in federal court while chastising an alternative review system (the Military Commissions Act of 2006) set up by Congress as unconstitutional — dealing another blow to the Bush administration’s ‘war on terrorism’ policy — concluding that foreigners held at Guantanamo Bay have the same rights as U.S. residents to seek writs of habeas corpus.

The Court’s 5-4 majority ruling will allow several hundred alleged terrorists to see the evidence justifying their imprisonment. Some of the alleged terrorists have been held for six years and have had no definitive judicial determination regarding the legality of their detention. The ruling marks the third time in four years that the Supreme Court has repudiated the Bush administration’s claims of being above the law.

The fascist four — Chief Justice John G. Roberts, and Justices Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito — dissented with the majority agreement. Roberts and Alito were appointed by Bush to the Supreme Court, which serves as an excellent argument as to why Supreme Court Justices should be elected, not appointed by a President. Scalia warned that ‘the nation will live to regret what the court has done today.’ Actually, Mr. Scalia, the nation regrets what the Supreme Court illicitly did in 2000 when Bush was appointed to the presidency. That decision was possibly the worst decision in U.S. history and has cost this country dearly.

With his usual corrupt ignorance, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina called the ruling tremendously dangerous and irresponsible. Republican Presidential contender John McCain — also known as Bush Jr. — said the ruling is one of the worst in the history of this country. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who rose to power by exposing and exaggerating Democratic corruption, said the decision ‘could cost us a city.’

FISA Fight Set To Continue This Week

June 15th, 2008

The FISA Fight continues — Congressional ‘leadership’ is once again preparing to destroy the Constitution and screw the American public they’re sworn to protect by passing illicit legislation under the guise of a “compromise” that will give illegal, unconstitutional retroactive immunity to all who participated in the illegal wiretapping and spying activities requested by President Bush — once again showing how low the depths of their corruption and lawlessness go.

This supposed “compromise” that Congressional Democrats have agreed to regarding spying powers and telecom amnesty is not a compromise at all. It gives Bush and the rest of his cohorts everything they’ve demanded all along.

Noted by Glenn Greenwald:

“Although, as I indicated yesterday, public reports about the bill’s telecom immunity provisions were unclear, I’ve now been able to confirm definitively that the “compromise” that Democrats have agreed to does contain guaranteed immunity for the telecoms. The bill provides that the federal courts are required to dismiss the suits and immunize the telecoms as long as conditions are met that everyone already knows will be fulfilled. Put another way, the bill simply provides that the federal courts must dismiss all lawsuits against telecoms for their illegal spying as long as telecoms can demonstrate “A, B, and C” — where “A, B and C” are already known in advance to be true and easily proven. The Democrat-supported bill is nothing more than a pre-ordained, mandated script provided to the courts to compel them to dismiss the telecom lawsuits.

Worse still, the conditions for dismissal in the Democrats’ “compromise” bill shows how corrupt and lawless they are. Courts are required to immunize telecoms as long as telecoms merely demonstrate that the illegal spying they enabled was requested by the President and was represented to them by the Executive branch to be lawful. Courts will be required to dismiss the lawsuits without any consideration whatsoever of whether these telecom-defendants actually broke the law.

Dangers and Delusions of Complicit Media

June 12th, 2008

Many have known about the role of corporate media in the Bush administration for years — complicitly manipulating propaganda under the guise of News to further support for illegal wars, purposely printing false information while using fear-mongering to coerce passage of illicit, proven illegal legislation, making false statements to appease the disaster of the Bush legacy, etc. — and, pretty much on a daily basis, more of the fallacies and lies continue being revealed. When you throw in Congressional collusion and deception on top of the whole equation, you have some disastrous situations.

For years, The New York Times (NYT), The Washington Post (WAPO), FOX News, CNN, ABC, The Associated Press…the list goes on and on…has knowingly and willingly lied or ignored pertinent facts that would destroy the Bush administration. That’s not to say that these media corporations are all bad. There are some excellent journalists and reporters in all of the above mentioned entities. Unfortunately for them though, all it takes is one bad apple — and corrupted, ignorant executives — to drag them down.

Below are several examples of dangerous, damaging delusions of complicit corporate media as well as examples of why they have no one but themselves to blame for losing credibility and money from a public that relies on getting credible information from various alternative blogs and media online.

There was a time when large corporate entities such as The NYT or The WAPO could print whatever they wanted the public to believe and get away with it. Times have changed considerably. More people are getting involved in setting the records straight and pointing out the fallacies and lies of corporate media and the Bush administration.

A Decidely Corrupt and Deceptive Legacy

June 5th, 2008

President Bush likes to refer to himself as the “decider,” and claims to decide what is best, but it appears that he decides what is best for himself and all of his wealthy cronies who have contributed to creating a decidedly delusional, lawless bubble they believe themselves to be shrouded by — a bubble filled with Pentagon Corruption of epic proportions, genocide in the Middle East that will affect several American and Allied soldiers and personnel for years to come as well as numerous other illicit deceptions — while financially and morally bankrupting Americans. Middle Eastern countries have also been destroyed along the way, and President Bush has plans to destroy a few more.

President Bush created a legacy of deception, lies and propaganda. Several Congress persons, judges and corporate media executives have also helped along the way. President Bush succeeded in politicizing the Federal government while virtually turning America into a dictatorship.

More than enough is known to impeach both President Bush and Vice President Cheney, yet Congress refuses to do anything about it. Just when you thought you’ve heard all the ignorance and B.S. you can stomach, newer, more startling revelations shedding more light on unfathomable depths of corruption in the Pentagon and the Bush administration surface.

Most if not all of this could have been avoided were it not for five fabulous ’Justices‘ in the U.S. Supreme Court — as well as help from then Florida Governor Jeb Bush, George Bush’s brother. Extensive Vote Fraud played essential parts in the 2000 and the 2004 Presidential elections as well.

Politicized Fear and Muted Media

June 1st, 2008

The constant use of fear to further political agendas has been a recurring problem of epidemic proportions, used intentionally to badger Congress and American citizens into what amounts to a totalitarian police state, while the vast majority of corporate media complicitly sat by and allowed it to happen.

In case you missed it, a tell-all book written by Scott McClellan comes out June 1, 2008, and it reiterates what has been known for some time — propaganda and manipulated data was used illicitly by the Bush administration to garner public support for a war with Iraq. It also accuses the media of being complicit, not asking tough enough questions. Scott McClellan is a former press secretary for the Bush administration.

While it has been known for years that corporate media was in bed with the president, corporate media never talked about or acknowledged it — relying instead on trying to discredit those who dared question their loyalties. McClellan’s book has succeeded in forcing corporate media to finally acknowledge those facts.

While ‘rightwing’ pundits and Bush Co. flunkies continue trying to smear McClellan’s reputation, they also continue, for the most part, not to deny the allegations made in the book. McClellan is the latest former employee of the Bush administration to admit what has been known to some for a long time.
