CNN: Trump Team Gave Russians ‘Thumbs Up’ to Release Hillary Smears article from Mother Jones. –
http://www.motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2017/03/cnn-trump-team-gave-russians-thumbs-release-hillary-smears

“CNN has some breaking news:

The FBI has information that indicates associates of President Donald Trump communicated with suspected Russian operatives to possibly coordinate the release of information damaging to Hillary Clinton’s campaign, US officials told CNN….The FBI is now reviewing that information, which includes human intelligence, travel, business and phone records and accounts of in-person meetings.

….One law enforcement official said the information in hand suggests “people connected to the campaign were in contact and it appeared they were giving the thumbs up to release information when it was ready.” But other U.S. officials who spoke to CNN say it’s premature to draw that inference from the information gathered so far since it’s largely circumstantial.

Apparently this is all “raising suspicions” among counterintelligence officers about ties between Russia and the Trump campaign…”

This may be the worst defense of Trump’s Obama-wiretapped-me claim – literally article from the Washington Post. –
https://www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/news/the-fix/wp/2017/03/08/this-might-be-the-worst-defense-of-trumps-obama-wiretapped-me-claim-literally/

“Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) is chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, which means he’s in charge of investigating President Trump’s evidence-free allegation that President Barack Obama wiretapped his offices.

But Nunes doesn’t seem particularly worried that the current president accused the former president of a crime. Echoing so many Republican defenses of Trump’s tweets, he suggested Tuesday that Trump’s allegation simply shouldn’t be taken at face value.

Here’s what Nunes said:

The president is a neophyte to politics. He’s been doing this a little over a year. And I think a lot of the things that he says, you guys sometimes take literally. Sometimes he doesn’t have 27 lawyers and staff looking at what he does — which is, I think, at times refreshing and at times can also lead us to have to be sitting at a press conference like this, answering questions that you guys are asking. But at the end of the day, I think tweets are a very transparent way for a politician of any rank to communicate with their constituents. So I don’t think we should attack the president for tweeting.

There are a couple straw men here. One is the idea that Trump needs “27 lawyers” reading his tweets before they go out. The implication is that Trump didn’t really know what he was saying would be a big deal…”

5 Trump myths about illegal immigration article from Yahoo! News. –
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/5-trump-myths-about-illegal-immigration-193622157.html

“The deportation force is being mustered.

President Donald Trump is making good on his campaign promise to round up and deport undocumented immigrants more aggressively than prior presidents. He recently told business leaders at the White House that a “military operation” is underway to roust people who are in the country illegally, and John Kelly, the Director of Homeland Security, recently outlined plans to hire 15,000 new immigration agents to help with the work. That will take time—and require Congressional funding—but the Trump administration already seems to be ramping up enforcement of existing immigration laws.

Trump has blamed undocumented immigrants for taking American jobs, committing violent crimes and milking US taxpayers. There are certainly anecdotal examples of each, but Trump also applies his usual hyperbole to the issue, while overlooking the important role undocumented workers play in the US economy. They account for about 4.5% of the American workforce and are crucial workers in industries such as agriculture, construction and hospitality. If Trump intends to kick an estimated 11 million undocumented people out of the country, it could upend many businesses and harm the economy more than it helps…”

The out-of-control Trump saga, our liar-in-chief loves torture, White House Press Secretary Spicer still spreading lies, Trump’s unethical conflicts of interest, expanding the U.S nuclear arsenal, Trump’s moral panic tactics, Trump’s man-baby antics, Trump’s economic nationalist Agenda, a global counter-Trump movement is rising, a new low of attacking children, the potential for another illegal ground war and more.

Where does the Trump saga end? article from Yahoo! News. –
https://www.yahoo.com/news/how-trump-might-redefine-the-presidency-100007834.html

“Where is all this headed, and how does it end?

These are the questions you hear all over Washington right now. Which is strange, because normally you wouldn’t be idly speculating about the end of a presidency barely a month after the inauguration. Certainly, in parts of the country that voted overwhelmingly for Trump, the sense is he’s just getting started.

But the pervasive view in the capital is that President Trump at this point is like a guy behind the wheel who hasn’t slept in a week, surrounded by a small mountain of empty Red Bull cans as he weaves his way across four lanes at night, squinting to read the signs and ignoring the angry blasts of horns.

Sure, it’s a straight drive home on a sparsely populated highway. But at this rate, what are the odds he makes it very far without hurting himself … or someone else?

Some of this is just the lingering shock of the election. A lot of people in Washington are still waking up every morning with a feeling of “this cannot be happening,” and from there it’s a short jump to “this cannot go on for very long.”

But it’s also the sense that Trump himself has skipped right over the opening and middle stages of a normal presidency — honeymoon, legislative push, midterms and reelection — and leaped straight into the self-pitying, paranoid, scandal-shadowed slog of year seven…”

“…Loving America and Resisting Trump
The New Patriotism
By Frida Berrigan

So reality has inexorably, inescapably penetrated my life. It didn’t take long. Yes, Donald Trump is actually the president of the United States. In that guise, in just his first weeks in office, he’s already declared war on language, on loving, on people who are different from him — on the kind of world, in short, that I want to live in. He’s promised to erect high walls, keep some people in and others out and lock up those he despises, while threatening to torture and abuse with impunity.

Still, a small personal miracle emerges from this nightmare. It turns out that, despite growing up an anarchist protest kid who automatically read Howard Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States alongside the official textbooks, I love this country more each day. So I find myself eternally upset about our new political reality-show, about a man so thin-skinned he lashes out at everything and so insulated in his own alt-reality that no response to him seems to matter.

Above all, I am so mad. Yeah, I’m mad at all those people who voted for Trump and even madder at the ones who didn’t vote at all. I’m mad at everyone who thinks the sum total of their contribution to the political well-being of this country is voting every two or four years. I’m mad at our corporate-political system and how easily distracted people are. I’m steaming mad, but mostly at myself…”

Trump now owns Obamacare article from Yahoo! News. –
https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/trump-now-owns-obamacare-181736930.html

“President Trump seems gleeful every time the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare, encounters some new difficulty. But these are now becoming Trump’s problems, not his predecessor’s, and he’s likely to get most of the blame if some 20 million Americans who get health coverage under the ACA suffer from the program’s demise.

Health insurer Humana (HUM) recently said it would pull out of the ACA in 2018, a development Trump reveled in. Here’s the tweet:

Obamacare continues to fail. Humana to pull out in 2018. Will repeal, replace & save healthcare for ALL Americans. https://origin-nyi.thehill.com/policy/healthcare/319538-humana-to-drop-out-of-obamacare-marketplace-at-end-of-2017 …”
